How To ‘Imprint’ Your Unique Energy On Your Readers’ Hearts & Minds

If you’re a doctor, therapist, transformational coach or expert who depends on content marketing to sell your premium offers, you might find this useful. It's about a 5-minute read that I’ve put a lot of thought into ... and it's PART 3 of a 5-part series: Overcoming The Trust Recession. Find PART 1 here, and find PART 2 here.

Overcoming The “Trust Recession” — Part 3 (of 5)

Let me tell you a story about my mom.

The other night, I was chatting with my mom on the phone, and she said, “Oh, I found the most amazing new website to get healthy recipes I can make quickly and on a budget!”

(My mom is retired, and the Original Coupon Clipper. LOL)

Now, about that time, I braced myself for some recitations of new “quick & budget friendly” healthy recipes she was going to try …

But instead, she began to relate the story about the cooking blogger whose email list she’d just opted in to.

She told me this woman’s entire story.  As in … every. Single. Detail.

Meanwhile, I was grinning as I listened …

As a content coach & marketer myself, I knew exactly why the blogger was sharing the story, where she was going with it …

And I knew how it was going to end:

With my mom very happily buying (and loving!) her cookbook.

See, having that connection with this cooking blogger — knowing her roots, getting a taste of her style (no pun intended!), and feeling like the author was equally excited about wanting to cook healthy meals on a budget (and without a lot of time or fuss) …

IMPRINTED itself on my mom’s mind.  It made an impression on her.  It built trust.  It opened her heart — and her wallet.

My mom felt — just from that ONE story — like the cooking blogger really “GOT” her … truly understood her approach to cooking health meals on a budget, whilst also saving time.

And that is why the second “Trust Building” content type I’m sharing in this series is …

STORY-BASED Content

Why stories are so effective to build trust

Stories are amazing for so many reasons … not the least of which is that, as humans, we seem to be WIRED to remember stories.

There’s an ancient proverb that states, “Tell me the facts and I’ll learn. Tell me the truth and I’ll believe. But tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever.”

And think about it:  Who were the teachers you remembered most fondly from school — the ones who droned on and on in bone-dry lectures, or the ones who used stories to teach you incredible things?

Likewise, when you’re creating content for your readers — whether to help them think about things differently (as I taught in Part 2 of this series), or to make an offer to them, or just to help them get to know you …

Stories can spice up your writing (and make it so much more effective!).

There are dozens of ways to use stories in your content …

But one of the easiest — and the type that the cooking blogger used that got my mom following her and buying from her — is your “Simple Origin Story”.

This is a short story tracing how you got where you are, and demonstrating why you’re best-suited to help your exquisite-fit client.

It’s an extremely powerful way to build trust and resonance with your audience — by “imprinting” your unique energy and personality in your readers’ hearts & minds, so they form a strong bond with you.

What ChatGPT can never do

Your writing is your ENERGY, in print. ❤️‍🔥

No machine can ever replicate that.

It’s a human story … unique to YOU.

Your readers will feel that … and your exquisite-fit clients will bond with you because of it.

So my challenge for you in this article is to write your “Simple Origin Story”.

(Take a look at my About Page for an example.)

And if you’d love to learn my framework for your Origin Story, along with how to write more story-based content, you might consider joining Relaxed Organic Marketing, where I use my acclaimed “Writing Patterns” to teach you all SEVEN types of “Trust Building” content — without A.I.

It’s my evergreen group mentoring program designed to help transformational coaches, experts, and healers to write powerfully distinctive, original content that helps them sell more high-end packages on social … while posting less often.

Meanwhile, in Part 4, I’ll dive into the third (of four) “Trust Building” content types I’m covering in this series …

And it’s one of the most POWERFUL types of content you can use to overcome the current “Trust Recession” we’re experiencing in the market.

(It also goes against nearly all conventional marketing advice out there.)

See you there.
